"A fascinating historical novel from Allan Hudson. Once again, Allan puts you right at the heart of the action with his particular narrative style. As a family saga that moves from Scotland to Canada, this story is not quite as action-packed as the adventure stories Mr Hudson also writes. Nevertheless it kept me turning the page. The characters are well-drawn and you can't help but be drawn into the their story from the very first page."

A most enjoyable read. The author has done an impressive job of taking us through 9 years in the life of Dominic Alexander. A life packed with people, events both happy and sad, and accomplishments, and yet his life has only just begun. Also, I was impressed with the world history that continuously unfolded throughout the story. I spent a lot of time Googling much of that history. Also, I feel that I know so much more about New Brunswick, a province I have yet to visit. I look forward to more from the Alexanders.
